Lehmus Roastery's coffee box presents flavors straight from the top of the coffee world!

The Lesoilulaatiko is one of the highlights of the end of the year. This year too, the Lesoilulaatiko features two so-called competition-level coffees, which have received 87.5 and 88 points in the cupping scoring. Packed in stylish black bags, the coffees arrive at your doorstep in unique packaging tailored for this package, finished with gold foil.

This year, the coffees will arrive from Costa Rica and Panama.

Coffee 1: Four Winds
Our first coffee arrives from long-term farmers, i.e. Iván Gerardo Solís Rivera and From Leandra Cordero's small six-hectare family farm in the rainforests of Costa Rica in southern Central America. The coffee is a rare blend of two varieties, Caturra and Red Catuai, and is processed using the natural sun-drying process.

The coffees are hand-picked at an altitude of 1650 meters above sea level and only ripe berries are accepted. Therefore, picking the berries is slow, but the quality is tasted in the cup.

The coffee's aromas have charming fruitiness, such as banana and raspberry. The multi-hued aroma world also brings to the tongue the delicate florality of rose petals, the freshness of black tea and the sugary sweetness.

Cuatro Vientos is one of the family-owned farms. The name of the farm, which means Four Winds in Finnish, refers to the farm's location in the mountains of Costa Rica and the winds blowing from the Pacific Ocean, which create a special microclimate in the area.

The farm is run by a daughter Solsiré Solís Cordero . On the farm, the family grows a few different varieties and also experiments with different processing methods, and they share information about their own methods and the results of the development project with other small farmers in the area.

Coffee 2: Finca Hartmann

The second coffee in Lesoilulaatikon comes from Panama, from the multi-award winning Finca Hartmann farm. This is the first time we have imported Panamanian coffee that is not Geisha. It is a blend of Catuai and Caturra from Finca Hartmann, a Panamanian specialty coffee producer founded in 1940. Its aromas have the florality and sensitivity typical of Panamanian coffees, but also silky softness and subtle fruitiness.

Finca Hartmann is located near the border with Costa Rica, so the coffees in this edition of Lesoilulaatikko come very close to each other, 250 kilometers apart, even though they are under the flags of different countries. Finca Hartmann is known for being located in the middle of a very green area bordered by national parks, and the coffees are grown naturally under the rainforest trees that have already grown in the area using the shade cultivation method. This way, the coffee grows slowly and matures peacefully into its full aromatic world.
