Lehmus Roastery presents the most perfect package for the summer, whether for home, on a trip, on a boat, on the road, at the cottage or anywhere else: The Best of the Summer box includes three new coffees and a summer short story written for us by author Juha Itkonen!
The three dark roast coffees are called Kesäpaahto, Lomapaahto and Mökkipaahto. The coffees arrive from Nicaragua, Peru and Colombia. Novelli arrives from Helsinki.
In our opinion, the best of the summer is the best possible take-away, take-away, souvenir and gift for yourself, especially if you like dark roasted, soft and full-bodied coffees.
Since summer and lingering afternoon coffee breaks in the balmy summer also include reading, we have taken care of that too. So the box also includes the summer short story Omenapuu, written for us by author Juha Itkonen .
Itkonen, who has been nominated for the Finlandia Prize twice for his novels and won the State Literary Prize once, has included the short story in the box and will not be published elsewhere. It is folded into a beautiful four-page work that can be framed, for example, on the wall of a house.
Cottage roast is perfect for blueberry pie, with a taste of the softness of an evening swim

Let's take a look at the coffees themselves. The cottage roast comes from small farmers in the Chrinos area of Peru.
It tastes as pleasant as the creak of a pier under your bare feet. The taste is as soft as a dive for an evening swim and the mouthfeel is as pleasant as the most beloved of cottage clothes.
The aromas are reminiscent of the longing for a cuckoo flower, the freshness of a glass bottle of jaffa and blueberry pie on a bun!
The coffee varieties are a blend of Bourbon, Catimor, Caturra, Costa Rica and Typica Arabica. It is grown at an altitude of 1800 meters and the processing method is washing, which gives the coffee bright aromas and tones.
In the summer heat, the freshness of the meadows and the heat of a wood-burning stove

In other words, summer roast is coffee grown on the Praga farm of Colombian Julia Elvira Orezco, which grows at an altitude of over 1,700 meters.
Dark Summer Roast is as rich as the red of the sun setting on the horizon, soft as the heat of a wood-burning stove, sweet as a wild strawberry, and dark as a thundercloud on the horizon.
The coffee tastes like the sweetness of new potatoes and the intoxicating joy of daisies. The perfect coffee for a summer party!
The coffee is a blend of Castillo and Colombia Arabica varieties and is processed using the washing method.
The aromas of holiday roasts reflect the best weeks of the year

Dark Holiday Roast tastes as liberating as a "holidays are good" message to colleagues. It feels as soft as an alarm clock and as toasty as a lunch cooked on a charcoal grill.
The aromas of the lightness of holiday reading, the bliss of an empty calendar, and the relaxation of returning home from a family celebration!
The holiday roast comes from four small farmers in Nicaragua. The coffee is grown at an altitude of 1200–1350 meters. The bean variety is Caturra Arabica and the processing method is washing.
The summer novella "Omenapuu" is a new frontier for Lehmus Roastery

The Apple Tree is a unique short story. Juha Itkonen is best known for his beautiful writing and novels. He has written short stories less often, so when we asked him to do this kind of commissioned work, it was easy to agree to the request. And where did the idea for The Apple Tree come from?
"The time for writing was opportune: bright, sparkling and blooming early summer, somehow the most wonderful time of year. My family has had their own hideaway in the countryside for a few years, and that's where the idea came from. I'm familiar with the problems of growing apple trees."
