Tiramisu is a traditional Italian dessert that consists of cookies soaked in coffee and coffee liqueur, rich mascarpone cheese and a generous layer of dark cocoa powder. In vegan tiramisu, the base is made by hand with an easy recipe that beats any ready-made cookie base. Cheese and cream are also replaced with dairy-free versions.
This is an easy recipe for tiramisu
The recipe is also suitable for the lazier home baker, as instead of separate traditional savoiardi biscuits, one cake base is baked, which can be cut into two if desired. This saves you extra effort, without compromising on taste!
This dessert can also be made non-alcoholic, making it suitable for all ages. For an adult taste, you can add Amaretto or Marsala wine to moisten it.
Strong coffee is used as a moistening agent in the liqueur, which makes the base melt-in-your-mouth soft. We definitely recommend using our own Italian roast Sammonlahti for this Italian dessert, whose dark roast cuts through the sweetness of the tiramisu and creates a perfect balance.
Although the recipe is vegan, it is guaranteed to be delicious for everyone. The succulent dessert crowns any meal. However, it does not necessarily need other dishes to precede it, and tastes delicious on its own.

Vegan tiramisu recipe
Base:
3 ½ dl wheat flour
2 dl sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons vanilla sugar
100 g margarine
1 dl applesauce
1 dl oat milk
Humidification:
1 dl strong coffee
½ dl sugar
(1/2 dl Amaretto liqueur or Marsala wine)
Filling:
2 ½ dl foaming vegetable fat blend
250 g vegan mascarpone
3 dl powdered sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla sugar
Dark cocoa powder for decoration
Manufacturing:
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
- Mix the dry ingredients for the base together.
- Melt the margarine and mix in the applesauce and oat milk.
- Combine the mixtures together to form a smooth dough and pour onto a pie pan lined with baking paper. Bake the base in a 200 degree oven for about 25 minutes, or until the base is cooked. Cool thoroughly.
- Prepare the coffee and mix it, sugar and, if desired, liqueur together.
- Prepare the filling by whipping the vegetable fat mixture. Whisk in the vegan cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla sugar.
- Place the first layer on a serving dish and moisten it with the coffee mixture. Spread about half of the filling on top. Place the second layer on top of the filling and repeat the moistening and spreading of the filling on it.
- Finally, sift a generous layer of dark cocoa powder over the tiramisu before serving.
If you wish, you can bake the base in a springform pan, and cut the base into two parts, making a two-layer cake.

Tip! Tiramisu keeps well in the refrigerator, where the flavors intensify and absorb into the cake base. So it's a good idea to make the dessert a little before the big day, so it has time to chill in the refrigerator for a while.”
