Repotee is the newest member of our Kettu product family for the winter season. You can read more about this year's Kettu coffees here, but for now we'll focus on Repotee!
Repotee is a deliciously spicy chai drink. Chai can be drunk either as is or with milk or oat drink. The taste of chai is rich, spicy, warming, pleasant and otherwise wonderful. The same is true of our Repotee.
The base of the tea is rooibos, so our chai is caffeine-free. The drink is flavored with real ingredients: cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, licorice root, cardamom and vanilla.

Chai tea is a classic tea drink. Its history dates back thousands of years to India, where the strongly spiced drink has been used as a healing herb. Ginger and black pepper are thought to boost metabolism, cinnamon strengthens blood circulation, licorice root freshens breath, and cardamom acts as a mood lifter.
The spices and ingredients of chai have varied in India depending on availability and region, but the idea is that the spices in a chai drink are strong and provide a pleasant warmth to the body and mind.
Nowadays, chai is often drunk with milk or oat drink. Sugar is also used to add sweetness to the drink. These additions are not part of the original chai, but the fresher ingredients are thanks to the British, who, having conquered India, longed for a milky and sugary tea drink, so milk and sugar were added to chai. Of course, milk-based tea drinks have been drunk all over the world, so the British cannot be thanked or blamed for this drink alone.

The colors of the Repotee label are inspired by the warming ingredients of chai. The packaging, glowing in broken red and orange, also resonates with the cool Repotee people on the Kettu coffee labels.
Repotee is packaged as loose tea in a food-grade luxury tea cylinder, so once you've finished your plastic bagged tea, you can buy more tea in the same jar. The tea jar itself is enough to look at for several teatimes, as the bottoms of these tubes, made in Birmingham, have a map of Lappeenranta from the 1950s printed on them. The Repotie Road itself, from which Repotee was inspired, winds its way through the Joutseno region.
How to make chai drink or Repotee

Repotee's authentic spices allow for a long infusion time. We recommend using boiling water, dosing tea at 15-20 grams/liter, or a couple of teaspoons per mug, and letting the tea steep for 5-8 minutes. The longer the tea steeps, the deeper the flavors will develop. The drink is a real pleasure!
We recommend trying Repotee with milk or Oatly iKaffe. The taste experience becomes gentler and rounder, the sharper spices are softened. With oat drink, it becomes fuller.
Have a nice tea time!
